(Studio) 3 year old filly, Ruffian, being buried in Belmont Park. She broke ankle during race with Foolish Pleasure. Had 10 wins in 10 races record.

(Belmont Park, New York) Part of race in which leg broken shown. She came out of surgery kicking and broke her cast. [Vet. Dr. James PREDERGAST (sic) - she tore whole cast off. No way to reapply cast without anesthesia and didn't feel she could undergo it again.] [Foolish Pleasure's trainer Leroy JOLLEY - describes how horses break legs.] Trainers feel Ruffian's high spirits and strength cost her life.
