(Angola) 30-mi. convoy heads toward safety of coast; composed of 3000 vehicles and 4000 civilians and troops. Portuguese garrisons in north abandoned. Lisbon decides to pull all troops back to Luanda. Civilians left most possessions behind. Troops relieved to leave.
