(Studio) Department of Health, Education and Welfare Secretary Joseph Califano announces plans for ntnwide. immunization program against childhood diseases.
REPORTER: Barbara Walters
(DC) [CALIFANO - comments on complacency of today's parents with regard to such immunizations.] No. of children needing measles, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus and polio vaccinations noted. [CALIFANO - says program costs minimal compared to money and suffering of diseases.] Department of Health, Education and Welfare says program will be permanent and available to all.
