(Studio) Convicted murderer Gary Gilmore requests Utah supreme court allow death sentence to be carried out; court agrees. Gilmore will be executed by firing squad Monday morning.

(Salt Lake City, UT) Provo, UT, jury handed down sentence and Gilmore, his new attys. and state attorney general argue Gilmore's rights violated by court-apptd. attys. who appealed case and were subsequently fired by Gilmore. [Defense attorney Dennis BOAZ - says Gilmore wants to be executed and will not live rest of life in prison.] Gilmore's remarks to court justices noted.
