(Studio) Senator Abraham Ribicoff, on trip in Israel with 12 other Senators, today makes proposal to Carter administration to keep Secretary of State Henry Kissinger on as special United States representative to help Middle East peace negotiations.

(Tel Aviv, Israel) Ribicoff's suggestion comes in news conference [RIBICOFF - says in view of Arab and Israeli leaders' knowledge of Kissinger and his of Arab-Israeli conflict, Kissinger could be special envoy from United States in negotiations.] Israeli leaders express concern with regard to Arab response to negotiations without Kissinger. Concern could be eased if Ribicoff's suggestion taken.
