(Studio) Ex-President Richard Nixon and wife to be in People's Republic of China, February 21, as reported by Barbara Walters of NBC. Chinese plane to pick up Nixon group. Report on White House reaction.

(DC) 1 aide says Ford furious; another says Ford is puzzled. Ford plans to go to New Hampshire February 21 for campaigning. Press Secretary Ron Nessen says Ford had no role in arranging trip and Nixon will have no diplomatic duties. No plans for Ford to meet with Nixon after trip, though Secretary of State Henry Kissinger will.
