Nixon once asked Henry Kissinger to pray with him; became emotional. Kissinger reported to have taped telephone calls; forced Nixon to make him Secretary of State by threat of resignation. Doctors said to have tried dissuading Nixon from 1974 trip to Egypt due to phlebitis. Some Secret Service men believed Nixon courted death.
