(Studio) Influenza reported epidemic in 24 states, incling. Washington, DC and Puerto Rico. Outbreaks occurred in all other states, incling. Canada. 1200 died of flu or pneumonia in February 1/5 of Florida nursing home residents died in last 2 weeks

(Saint Petersburg, Florida) Flu hit Sunshine Convalarium; 27 of 120 patients died in 2 weeks Most had type A flu. [Health ofr. Dr. George DAME - says doesn't understand why nursing home in particular hit so hard. Few cases in cnty.] [Convalarium Peter LICARI - says some speculate that flu brought here by visitors and tourists.]
