(Studio) Report on effort to oust Philadelphia Mayor Frank Rizzo.
REPORTER: John Chancellor
(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) [MAN - announces that anyone can sign recall petitions to revoke Rizzo as mayor.] 1000 volunteers try to get signatures of 145,000 Philadelphia voters in 60 days. If successful, Rizzo must resign or run for mayor again. Independent candidate against Rizzo, last fall, Charles Bowser, organized effort. Reasons for move noted. Demonstration held outside city hall against closing of Philadelphia General Hospital. Rizzo says nothing about campaign to remove him.
