(Studio) Report on Concorde take-offs.
REPORTER: John Chancellor

(Dulles Int. Airport) DC-8 registers 107 decibels on noise-monitoring equipment. 727 registers 102. [MAN - says French Concorde registers over 120 decibels.] Level registers near point of pain. British Concorde takes off from another runway. [WOMAN - didn't hear anything.] [2nd WOMAN - says ears hurt from take-off.] If county noise ordinances violated, officials will go back to court to have flights stopped.

(Studio) Transportation Secretary William Coleman says New York's Kennedy Airport could be downgraded as US' main international airport if New York conts. to keep Concorde out of New York.
