(Studio) American embassy shuts down most of its operations in Lebanon. Evacuation of Americans set for Tuesday Embassy urges 1000 Americans to leave.

(Beirut, Lebanon) Most children spend time collecting water. Doctors fear disease because water is badly polluted. Sewage seeped into municipal pipes and underground wells. Vaccinations given. Gasoline scarce. Smuggled bread sells quickly. City smells like garbage. Many beginning to suffer nervous breakdowns and hysteria.
