(Studio) Spanish government gives up right to nominate bps. of Catholic Church. Vatican to let Spanish priests and nuns be tried in Spanish civil courts without church authorization. King Juan Carlos expected to rule this week on amnesty for political prisoners.

(Santiago De Compostela, Spain) King will issue amnesty decree from north Spain, where he's visiting. Opposition forces want action. King hopes his popular support will avoid right-left split. March 1976 film shows pro-amnesty demonstration. Police club and arrest demonstrators. Fascism still entrenched in bureaucracy. Pro-Franco demonstration not broken up by police.
