(Studio) AMVETS convention opens in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, paying no attention to disease and results of it after American Legion convention last month

(Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) AMVETS arrive for convention showing no signs of worry re: disease. National commander Paul Welsh decided to go ahead with convention [WELSH - says would have been difficult to change, but if he'd thought there was danger, it would have been done.] Convention delegates use 2 of same hotels as Legionnaires. Michigan AMVETS say they're not afraid of disease. [MAN - says if they worried abort things like that, they wouldn't be veteran's org. they are.] [2nd MAN - says had no 2nd thoughts about it.] Convention opened with all acting as if nothing had happened.
