(Studio) Viola, Illinois, city government plans to give some of unused tax money back to townspeople; not all townspeople happy.
REPORTER: David Brinkley
(Viola, Illinois) Town has become famous because of Mayor Ivan Cooper's plan to give about 1/3 of yr'.s real estate tax back to taxpayers. [COOPER - says money hasn't been used and if anyone needs it, they can get it.] Municipal purchases noted. Some citizens feel mayor is hero. [MAN - says mayor's honest and doing lot for town.] Others skeptical with regard to tax rebate plan. [2nd MAN - says no use to give it back if people have to pay it again.] [WOMAN - says they ought to keep it.] Regardless of how they feel, Viola citizens will get tax rebate.
