(Studio) National Academy of Sciences study says fluorocarbon gas used to make aerosol cans squirt floats to upper atmosphere and damages ozone layer. Academy says it will eventually have to be outlawed but couple of years wait for more research will do no serious harm.

(DC) Report on destruction of ozone by fluorocarbons and repercussions. Academy says increase in skin cancer will be greater. [Dr. John TUKEY - cites effects with regard to skin cancer and general effects on plants and animals.] Mfrs. are pleased with recommendation to study situation for 2 more years; they've said tests haven't been conclusive. Mfrs. working on substitutes for fluorocarbons.
