(Studio) Pressure is on UAW (United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America) to make Ford Motors strike short because of effect on other inds.

(Detroit, Michigan) At Dearborn, Michigan,plant employees counted seconds till strike time Tuesday night; this morning maintenance workers without union card turned away by pickets. UAW (United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America) President Leonard Woodcock goes to Michigan AFL-CIO convention and gets expression of support; Woodcock says doesn't want strike to become campaign issue. [WOODCOCK - says both candidates should remain neutral.] Indications are for long strike.
