(Studio) New York City police protest 6% pay hike deferment. At Yankee Stadium, on occasion of Muhammad Ali-Ken Norton prize fight, mob scene occurred. People robbed, cars broken into, people roughed up. Police, in and out of uniform, did nothing to quell disturbance. On-duty police ordered to arrest off-duty police if disorderly.

(NYC) Film of scene shown. [POLICEMAN - says, to group,warning given, clear out.] While off-duty police picket, and on-duty police watch, 1000's of youth loot crowds coming to prize fight. Mayor Abraham Beame calls police performance an outrage. Police commissioner Michael Codd announces investigation. [CODD - says police must do their duty.] 1971 dispute recalled. Commissioner calls New York City safe today.
