(Chicago, Illinois) Charges of Bilandic's own consumer sales commissioner Jane Byrne that Bilandic helped get fare increases for Yellow and Checker Cab Companies, despite indication of fraud, detailed. [BYRNE - states belief with regard to rate hike.] Bilandic's remarks on matter cited. [BILANDIC - responds to question with regard to own actions.] Justice Department and FTC (Federal Trade Commission) probes into matter noted.
