(Studio) Defense opens arguments in Detroit trial of 2 nurses in Veterans Administration hospital accused of murder.
REPORTER: John Chancellor

(Detroit, Michigan) Court proceedings noted. Defendants are Filipina Narciso and Leonora Perez. Defense attorney Tom O'Brien says FBI under pressure to solve case at time of deaths because James Hoffa had just disappeared and Patty Hearst not yet found. Hospital official testifies with regard to lack of security at hospital. [PEREZ - feels fine about case.] [NARCISO - is confident justice will prevail.] Trial expected to last 4 mos.
