(Studio) First of two trials of two young men accused of espionage and giving secrets to USSR is in progress in Los Angeles.
REPORTER: David Brinkley

(Los Angeles, California) Last year, government found classified info., include plans for CIA satellite communications system, from TRW plant in Redondo Beach, had gotten to USSR agents in Mexico. Arrested and charged in case are Christopher Boyce and Andrew Lee; details with regard to trial noted. Prosecution claims documents were sensitive to US. Defense says they weren't; but even defense's star witness, former CIA agent Victor Marquetti disagrees with that. [MARQUETTI - has heard opinions it would have been better for information to remain classified.] Boyce's testimony noted.
