(Studio) Alaska pipeline is biggest single project financed by private funds.

(Prudhoe Bay, AK) Pipeline is completed, from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez; oil will start flowing in mid-June. Problems and cost overrun for pipeline, and reasons, noted. State agency overseeing pipeline says poor management by line's builder, Alyeska Pipeline Company, is reason for high cost. [Company pres. E.L. PATTON - denies mismanagement was reason.] Pipeline paid for by companies drilling in area, but will cost more to consumers in continental US.
