(Studio) In May, fire broke out in Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate, Kentucky, and death toll was shocking. Reasons for fire are outlined in report by state investigators.
REPORTER: John Chancellor
(Southgate, Kentucky) Investigators report to Kentucky Governor Julian Carroll that not only was fire preventable, but it was predictable. [CARROLL - describes club owners as having no regard for human life.] Details of report noted. [CARROLL- cites blatant violations of state safety and building codes.] Victims get angry upon learning of probe's findings. Ronald Schuman lost wife in fire and now must raise 2 sons alone. [SCHUMAN - wants to see someone pay for what has happened.] Schuman, other victims and families are now suing club owners and officials accused of failing to keep club safe. Carroll says findings will probably produce criminal indictments.
