(Studio) Strike of some members of Fraternal Association of Steel Haulers (FASH) noted; details given. Teamsters' opposition to strike stated.

(Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) [MAN - talks on telephone about strike.] Reasons for FASH strike noted. Necessity for many FASH mbrs., independent truckers, to join Teamsters stated. Picket lines set up in eastern coast areas and reports of violence and non-FASH independent truckers' forced to abandon trucks mentioned. Teamsters' refusal to support strike reported Independent truckers' strike in 1974 recalled; its success stated. FASH belief that this shutdown will also be successful cited. Pittsburgh mentioned.
