(DC) House investigation into insurance practices involved in selling unnecessary or worthless health insurance to elderly noted to have been in progress 6 mos. Hidden camera films shown of agents trying to sell insurance to elderly vols. pretending to be taken in by salesmen. [SALESMEN - try to sell policies.] Testimony of unidentified insurance agent to committee reported [AGENT - describes techniques of making sale.] Committee's report that most large, reputable companies don't engage in these practices stated. [Committee chairperson Claude PEPPER - comments on insurance fraud methods.] Witnesses' urging of elderly persons to supplement Medicaid only with single, comprehensive policy reported.
