[CARTER - has committed United States to active role in peace negotiations and recommits it now.] [SADAT - says this is time for effort in building solid structure for peace.] Topics of wkend. discussions noted: review of peace talks, Israel's Position on settlements in occupied territory, and Egyptian request for United States arms. Sadat's remarks on Palestinian issue noted.
