(Los Angeles, California) Details of crash of Continental Airlines jet given; is noted that pilot Gene Hershe was flying last flight before retirement. [Fire chief John GIRARD - cites details with regard to 2 deaths from fire.] [Passenger Sidney ALLEN - describes experience when escape chute caught fire.] [PASSENGERS - describe experiences.] Pilots' Association description of Los Angeles International Air- port as dangerous noted, and also that last major crash here was in 1969.
