(Studio) Report on Agriculture Department recommendation that schools stop selling snacks until all meals served.
REPORTER: Jessica Savitch
(DC) Agriculture Department plans to ban sale of candy, colas and such at schools until after all meals have been served there stated; is based on law passed by Congress in 1977. [Department's food and nutrition service director Lewis STRAUS - states reasons Department isn't going to ban sale of such foods entirely. Thinks and hopes children will be pleased. Believes children have learned over last several years to make distinctions between good and bad foods.]
