(Studio) Report on new, experimental treatment for cancer in Chicago.
REPORTER: David Brinkley

(Chicago, Illinois) Demonstration tape shown. Dvt. of new form of radiation treatment for cancer, using neutron beam from world's largest atom smasher noted; process reported to be under experimental use at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, near Chicago. Process is called neutron therapy. [Project director Dr. Frank HENDRICKSON - discusses apparent degree of success with therapy.] Patient Harold Knutsen's condition and treatment described. [KNUTSEN - says condition is now fine.] Similar experiments in Cleveland, Houston and Washington, DC mentioned and conditions for patients' treatment cited.
