(Studio) America's Cup yacht races begin Tuesday off coast of Newport, Rhode Island, with American entry defending against Australian challenger.

(Newport, Rhode Island) America's Cup, awarded to winner of race, has been held for 126-yr. history of race by New York Yacht Club representatives Contestants in race this year are Courageous, skippered by Atlanta Braves owner Ted Turner, and Australia, skippered [sic] by Alan Bond and representing country of same name after defeating another Australian yacht and those from France and Sweden. [TURNER - cites reasons he believes he and his crew will win.] [BOND - thinks crews and sails about even, but one ship will have faster hull and he's not sure which.]
