[PERCY - questions Lance with regard to wording of note.] [LANCE - responds.] [PERCY - speaks of Manufacturers Hanover bank officer's testimony with regard to stock dividends.] [LANCE - notes that he is not a lawyer.] Lance strategy characterized. (DC) President welcomes prime minister of France. Speculation is Lance future depends on performance before cute. Carter, by telephone, to radio and TV news dirs. in San Francisco, California, answers questions with regard to Lance. [CARTER - speaks of mistakes of overdrafts, but still is supportive of Lance.] Film of meeting shown. Jody Powell and Hamilton Jordan say Lance made good impression at hearing. Carter's feelings speculated upon.
