Though fairs are now big business, country people are still at heart of show and continue to come for same reasons as always. [John TAYLOR - notes those attending meet people from all over state they wouldn't otherwise know and that they're all working people, not professionals.] Drawing crowds as big as stars' appearances are local fiddlers' contests, like 1 in IN won by Arbo Byrd, and all seats are filled for 4-H fashion shows.
