(Studio) Admin. tries to work out compromise on natural gas price control issue, defeated in Senate on Thursday Details noted. Natural gas supply in Crystal City, Texas, is completely cut off.

(Crystal City, Texas) Crystal City, Texas, owes Lo-Vaca Gathering Company, of Houston, for 3 years supply of gas. City says residents too poor to pay intrastate rates. [City cnclman. Rudi ESPINOSA - notes 67% of residents are below poverty level and can't pay for gas. Says city doesn't have money to pay bill.] City fought through 6 courts before losing case; many users were hoping for another delay, and haven't converted to other fuels. [MAN - will see what happens and will use hotplate for while.] [WOMAN - says it's no problem, they won't pay any more gas bills.] Woman says she'll cook with wood outside. [2nd MAN - will go to Mexico.] City must pay bill, says it can't, so may be without gas for long time.
