(Studio) President Carter said rebuking brother Billy for his association with Libya at the same time that White House admitted asking Billy Carter's help in getting Libya to call for release of hostages in Iran.

(DC) Press Secretary Jody Powell's account of national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinki's contacting Billy Carter with regard to Libya-Iran relationship outlined; alleged letter from Libyan leader Muammar Kadhafi to Ayatollah Khomeini noted producing no results. Billy Carter said asking Brzezinski if he should tell Justice Department about earlier meeting; Brzezinski reported warning Carter about his efforts on behalf of United States oil company seeking more oil from Libya. President Carter's written statement today quoted; Powell reported denying that anyone at White House had tipped Billy Carter off about ├╣Justice Department inquiry.
