(DC) Fortas being tried by rumor, gossip, and innuendo. Representative Clark MacGregor proposes investigation by House Judiciary Committee, [MacGREGOR - says issue being solved by rumor. Committee could establish facts.] Committee Chairperson Emanuel Celler to decide. Senator Harry Byrd 1st Democrat to ask Fortas to resign. Rptd. other justices told him to sit tight.
