(Studio) Reverend Jesse Jackson's meeting in Syria with Navy Lieutenant Robert Goodman, captured after his plane was shot down, noted. Cancellation of meeting between Jackson and Syrian President Hafez al-Assad cited.

(Damascus, Syria) Mtg. between Jackson and Goodman reported [GOODMAN - expresses regret to family of Mark Lange; sends message to own family.] Lange mentioned killed when plane he and Goodman were flying was downed. [GOODMAN - comments on mail received from United States and on scars left from ejection from plane.] Jackson's meeting with Syrian foreign minister Abdel Halim Khaddam noted. Syrian demand for cessation of United States reconnaissance flights over Lebanon before Goodman is released cited.
