(DC) Lee Thomas, Lee Verstandig, Charles Dempsey and Alfred Zuck said appointed by Reagan to temporarily replace fired Environmental Protection Agency officials such as Rita Lavelle. [THOMAS - believes public service management is his strong suit.] [Admin. Anne BURFORD - rejects possibility of resignation.] FBI reported investigating superfund employees today. [EPA spokesperson Hugh KAUFMAN - comments on staff who decided not to talk with FBI.] [Rita LAVELLE - believes her telephone is bugged.]
