(DC) State Department officials' reported on compromise between United States and USSR on SALT, with regard to reduction in number of long-range missiles and bombers and re: multiple warheads, include cruise missile, detailed. Remaining issues of restrictions on size and capabilities of missiles and of backfire bomber noted. Planned discussion of backfire at Carter-Brezhnev summit, which officials say could come this summer, stated.
