(Studio) 542,500 Americans in Vietnam. Admin. draws up timetable for withdrawal of large number of troops by end of year

(DC) South Vietnam expect withdrawal of 50,000 American troops, whether North Vietnam does same or not. 1st withdrawal would begin in late summer and total 25,000. Next batch, 25,000, to leave 3 mos. later. If plan goes off and enemy offensive crushed, de-escalation will have begun.
