(Studio) Chicago board of education reported having 10 days to develop plan for school desegregation; Department of Health, Education and Welfare said granting extension.

(Chicago, Illinois) Present segregation of Chicago's schools outlined; estimated cost of Department of Health, Education and Welfare plan noted. [Sheila KELLIS, Clara WARD - comment.] School board's opposition to Department of Health, Education and Welfare order and proposed alternative plan reported [Department of Health, Education and Welfare Secretary Patricia HARRIS - says compliance can't be secured by vol. means.] Matter said being turned over to Justice Department if Chicago doesn't develop acceptable plan in 10 days.
