(DC: Robert Hager) New AIDS drug, Compound-Q, reported extracted from Chinese cucumber roots; details given of initial testing. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) scientists quoted with regard to testing on human AIDS victims. [San Francisco General Hospital test supervisor Dr. Paul VOLBERDING - says sometime drugs don't work on people as they did in labs.] FDA (Food and Drug Administration) noted accelerating approval process for possible AIDS drugs.
