(Sunol: George Lewis) "Bosco" the dog reported a famous in Sunol, California, resident because he is honorary mayor; details given of Bosco's election. [Bosco's owner Tom STILLMAN - comments on election.] [Newspaper writer Ruth PEARLE - defines "dogmocracy."] Chinese newspaper "The People's Daily" reported using Bosco as example of Western democracy not distinguishing between people and dogs. Sunol residents noted reasserting that Bosco's title is merely a joke; a concept which leaders in Beijing obviously do not understand. [Mother Pat STILLMAN - says people in China would rather have dog for mayor than their own leaders.]
