[SHEVARDNADZE - (thru translator) comments on need for United Nations peace-keeping force.] [Soviet foreign ministry Gennady GERASIMOV - talks about adding Soviet forces.] USSR noted withdrawing some military advisers from Iraq. [MUSCOVITE, Soviet commentator Boris NOTKIN - comment on Soviet peoples' concerns becoming more domestic.] Some American women and children trapped in Kuwait noted safe in Amman, Jordan; fate of those left behind noted. [Two AMERICANS - comment on violence in Kuwait.] Report introduced.

(Cairo: John Dancy) Secretary of State James Baker reported raising funds for United States military operation from exiled Kuwaiti Emir Sheik Jaber al- Ahmed al-Sabah and Saudi Arabian King Fahd; scenes shown of Baker at meetings and with United States troops. [Kuwaiti minister Yahya al-SUMAIT - says it's the least we can do.] Administration source noted saying sanctions against selling food to Iraq will fail, beginning with Iran. [BAKER - addresses troops.] Baker noted arriving in Cairo, Egypt, for meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
