(London: Dennis Murphy) News conference of just-released Middle East hostages Briton Terry Waite and American Thomas Sutherland featured; details given; scenes shown from Damascus, Syria. [WAITE - relates what his captors told him.] Waite reported saying he was told the remaining hostages would be released by the end of the month; photos shown. [SUTHERLAND - comments on his captivity.] Waite's kidnapping recalled; January 20, 1979, scenes shown. [Former hostage Father Lawrence JENCO - comments on Waite's prior efforts to free the hostages.] Sutherland reported going to the United States military hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany, for medical tests and a family reunion; Waite said going to a British hospital on Cyprus then home to England.

[This morning, daughter Kit SUTHERLAND - comments on possibility of her father's release.] Hostage Joseph Cicippio's brother, Thomas Cicippio, shown with his memorial to the hostages outside his home in Norristown, Pennsylvania. [CICIPPIO - expresses hope that remaining hostages will be released before Christmas.]
