(White House: Jim Miklaszewski) President Clinton's administration's review of its policy on Haiti featured; the criticisms reviewed. [Hunger-striking TransAfrica's Randall ROBINSON - calls Clinton's policy a miserable failure.] [June 9, 1992, CLINTON - says the Haitian boat people are political refugees.] [White House press secretary Dee Dee MYERS - says the old policy was not working.] The administration said asking the UN to impose tougher sanctions to help restore democracy to Haiti. The option of military intervention said raised by some staffers, but opposed by the Pentagon.
