(Studio) Iranian Prime Min. Mohammed Ali Rajai reported calling for clarification of US's original reply to Iran's conditions for hostages' release.

Current religious and political atmosphere in Iran, include President Abolhassan Bani-Sadr's recent remarks about war with Iraq, discussed; presence on speaker's platform with Sadegh Ghotbzadeh, recently imprisoned for criticism of Islamic terrorists, noted.

(DC) Secretary of State Edmund Muskie's response to statements coming from Iran noted. [MUSKIE - comments.] Muskie said confirming United States acceptance of Iran's conditions (for hostages' release) in principle; details outlined on screen, discussed. Possibility that Iran's response to United States reply will be delivered next week, either by Algerian ambassador to United States or by deputy Secretary State Warren Christopher mentioned.
