(Kabul, Afghanistan: Christiane Amanpour) The U.N. announcement that the Northen Alliance (United Front) has accepted an invitation to hold talks in Germany concerning the format of the new government featured; details given about a Northern Alliance delegation sent to Konduz to negotiate a surrender. [Afghan President Burhanuddin RABBANI (thru translator) - says the United Front wants to bring peace to Afghanistan.][United Nations Envoy for Afghanistan Francesc VENDRELL - says many Afghans do not think the United Front is the legitmate government.] The lack of information as to Saudi terrorist Osama bin Laden's whereabouts noted.

(Pentagon: Jamie McIntyre) The slowdown in the war in Afghanistan as the US prepares to send more troops and firepower to Uzbekistan featured; details given of a 25 million dollar reward offered for the capture of bin Laden. [Joint Chiefs of Staff Rear Admiral John STUFFLEBEEM - says the United States will honor Northern Alliance requests not to bomb certain areas.] [Secretary of Defense Donald RUMSFELD - says an escape of bin Laden or his supporters from Afghanistan would be "most unfortunate".]

(White House: Kelly Wallace) President Bush's offer of support in the fight against Muslim terrorist group Abu Sayyaf, a group linked to bin Laden and Al Qaeda, featured; scenes shown of the meeting between Bush and Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the White House. [BUSH - says the front against terrorism is not just in Afghanistan.] Planned trip by President Bush to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, announced.
