(Supreme Court: Pete Williams) The challenge in the Supreme court of California’s “three strikes” law featured; courtroom sketches by Art Lien shown; details given about the California cases of repeat offenders Leonardo Andrade and Gary Ewing, who received long sentences for shoplifting. [Andrade’s attorney Erwin CHEMERINSKY- says the sentence is disproportionate to the crime.] [California prosecutor Grover MERRITT- says the law removes these people from society and from preying on others.]
