(Studio) Inquest into Mary Jo Kopechne's death delayed after Senator Edward Kennedy's attys. appealed to Massachusetts Supreme Court Attys. say publicity violated Kennedy's Const. rights.

(Boston, Massachusetts) Supreme Court Justice Paul Reardan grants delay. Attorney Edward Hanify says reporters instead of people at inquest would cause undue publicity. Says unconst. not to cross-examine witnesses. Assistant, Massachusetts Attorney General argued the press would properly representative the public and Boyle's ground rules wouldn't violate witnesses' rights. Massachusetts Supreme Court to hear arguments in about 2 weeks Edgartown returns to normal.
