(DC) Treasury Secretary Don. Regan's meeting today with Senator Robert Dole and Representative Dan ROSTENKOWSKI with regard to tax cut compromise reported; films shown. [DOLE, ROSTENKOWSKI, REGAN - acknowledge lack of agreement.] Rostenkowski's mtg. with Democrat members of his committee noted. [ROSTENKOWSKI - says consensus eliminated support for across-the-bd. tax cuts; elaborates.] Interpretation of Rostenkowski's remarks considered.

(DC) White House warning to Democrats with regard to opposition to tax cut plan reported; details given. Reagan's criticism of Wall Street's opposition to tax cut examined. [REAGAN - doesn't consider Wall Street a source of sound economy advice.] Wall Street's position on tax proposals recalled.
