(DC) Congress subcommittee hearing into allegations that Burton, Parsons and Company, Incorporated, received near-monopoly on manufacturer of cleaning solution for soft contact lenses after lavishly entertaining FDA (Food and Drug Administration) officials examined. [Former Burton, Parsons official Keith WHITHAM - acknowledges that their efforts with microbiologist were unethical; hopes it wasn't bribery.] Company owner John Tommy Manfuso's statement with regard to entertaining microbiologist Mary Bruch noted; increase in company's growth from situation and cost to consumer of only 1 solution being mktd. cited.
